Dirty Martinis Good! Apple Martinis BA-Double D -- BADD!

My weekend was pretty cool -- depending on what time and day you are asking me about. Friday I got tickets to the Virgin Music Festival the line up is as follows:

Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Who, The Killers, The Flaming Lips, The Raconteurs, Gnarls Barkley, Scissor Sisters, Keane, Thievery Corporation, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The New Pornographers, Drive-By Truckers, Kasabian, Brazilian Girls, Wolfmother.

Are you kidding me with this line up?? I know! It's going to rock!!

Friday evening I went to drinks with Kate and Mario. And well something happened -- I was feeling great drinking my dirty martinis then they ran out of olive juice!! Then the fate full question was asked, "Do you want an Apple Martini?" I said yes -- that was the beginning of the end. I got very very intoxicated. There was throwing up in a vehicle -- crying -- and a lot of Kate support! I laid on her couch for most of Saturday. We went to see Clerks II (which rocked!) and then I was STILL dizzy and bad stomachy at 6:30 -- so I stayed over again. Kate was SUCH a good friend! She took care of me very well. Mario is very patient and understanding allowing me to take up most of his weekend.

I think it was the Apple Martinis that did me in -- my beloved dirty martini would never weld such a blow against me!!!!!!

Oh got my hair cut on Thursday night. I took these pictures after I played softball this evening, so be kind. --

My moving and packing aren't going too well. I have gotten everything ripped up and thrown around -- but not a thing really "packed." I have been really unmotivated lately to do ANYTHING. I got my brand new sewing machine last Saturday-- I have not even taken the paper out from under the pressure footer!!! It is SO terribly tragedic!

I played softball tonight. We won both games. I did okay (read as -- didn't fuck up TOO much!) SO I am pretty tired. I have along day of explaining to my boss why things haven't gotten done then the first round of kickball play offs! I will update more as the packing begins.

Thanks and shout outs to my peeps Kate and Mario for above and beyond friendship this weekend!

Signing off for now. Savor the flavor and drink the blue kool-aide. (not the green apple tini)

My Weekend -- Richmond Wrap-up and a Pleasant Pink Surprise!

I am home from Richmond. I started talking to AmandaKohr about half way home -- got so into our conversation, I missed my exit -- went over the WW Bridge and spent the next two hours trying to get back into Virginia from Maryland! Oh well such as life.

Here are some pictures from Richmond:

The General was the cat Kelsey adopted. The Rangers tried to trap him! And succeeded! Right after this picture The General made an inexplicable prison break! FREE THE GENERAL!

Saturday, I worked and went out with a friend. Was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tired!!!! Sunday, I woke up naturally at 5:30! DOH! So I willed myself back to sleep. I went over Joy and James' house for Joy's birthday brunch. I watched Tristan and Isode with James and Kristina -- sappy chick flick but had a threesome and sword fighting so I guess that's rad. Then Joy and I went to go see P!nk at the 9:30 club.

Now about P!nk -- I was okay with going -- it was Joy's birthday -- I like concerts, but didn't think P!nk was my cup of tea per sae. Well -- I am here to say I was FREAKIN" WRONG! Her new album is amazing!! She put on one heck of a show -- and converted me from a "Wow I love that 'Family Portrait' Song" (if you know anything about my past you will understand my connection with the song) to full on LOVE. Her stage present was completely genuine. She had energy and irony -- and was pretty funny. She commanded the crowd to do the 80s dance -- I LOVE THE 80s DANCE! Love LOVE LOVE! And the girl has some AMAZING PIPES! I am listening to the album on Rhapsody right now -- doesn't capture it -- the gravely soul she sings with is pretty freakin amazing. I would recommend her new album "I am not dead" When she sang "Dear Mr. President" I got chills -- big chills. I also am a fan of "Who Knows," "The one that got away," "Runaway"and the title track "I am not dead yet." Now you must realize -- tonight was the FIRST time I heard these songs -- and I am sure they will become favorites. Anyways -- that's why I go to shows -- to enjoy music and hear something I might not have been open too -- I am glad I got to go to this one. I think the coolest thing I saw tonight were a few 12 -14 year olds rockin' out! There were only a few of them -- but P!nk is definitely someone I think girls need to be listening too. Anyways -- it's late 1 AM and I have to go to work tomorrow.

Glazing -- Not Just Decopodge Anymore

Today I was up on the scaffolding again, but instead of painting -- I learned how to glaze a window. Glazing a window is adding a putty like substance to wood window frames to hold the pain of glass in the sash. It was way cool! It's an old way of doing things. Bill (the historical rehabilitation specialist) said that carpenters have been doing this technique for 100s of years! And that I was a natural. :) It was a way neat day learning how to do that. I also attended a safety meeting. What did I learn? Drink lots of water, don't get your fingers cut off and don't get stung by bees and wasps. Well I have failed in 2 of the three mandates! I always forget to drink water when I am out in the field-- believe me I pay for it dearly. And then yesterday there was the run in with the wasp.

In other news, I have obtained a few pieces of slate from the construction site last night. Kelsey and I were VERY stealthy ;) I am taking pictures of the house I am staying in and of Kelsey and Brandon. I will post them up when I get home.

Brandon got home today. THE CROWS RAWKED -- apparently. LOL. He broke up with his girlfriend since the last time I was here. He did the right thing doesn't doesn't like her as much as he should. I am proud of him --however--she is not really getting it and is over right now. Oh well.

I think this blog will be cool for y'all and me with my up coming travel. I can kinda keep y'all in the loop. Please comment when I am in Kentucky! I am getting nervous about going.

In crafting news, I did some crazy brainstorming last night for the PIMP swap. It's going to rock if I can pull it off. I will be posting some crafty stuff when I get home as well.

I think I am going to take a nap. I didn't sleep really well last night (surprise, surprise) and was at the shop at 7 AM. I think I could do that ever day if I worked in walking distance to the shop like I do when I am in Richmond. Yeah -- not going to happen in DC right!

Guess I will sign off for today -- savor the flavor and drink the blue kool-aide.

Do You Know How To Paint?

This is the first question posed to me this AM here in Richmond. Do You Know How To Paint? To which I answered -- HELLS YES! SO I painted a few 300 year old windows today -- got to stand on a scafold (spelling) which was really cool. I got in a debate at a construction site with the carpenter about the pitch of the roof -- I was right :) but then got stung by a wasp -- owie.

I got my PIMP MY CRAFTSTER NAME partner -- Pope Onna Rope. Love the name -- the ideas are flowing on what I am going to do for her.

I love being out at the park. Kelsey and I are chillin at the house. When it gets dark we are going to go to the log cabin work site and dumpster dive some slate they were taking off the roof! It's like slate from 1800 and they are going to throw it away!!!! Brandon is out for the evening -- he and his buddies went to go see the Black Crows -- he is 20 -- he thinks the Crows are orginal -- that makes me sad ;) Anyways, it's been a good first day out here. I can't wait to get into a park myself!

Swaps Swaps Everywhere

I am going out of town for three days and I am bummed because I am really grooving on working on some crafts. I got the outside of my tin done for the Altoid Tin Swap. I need to figure out how to do the inside still. I got all of my postcards done for the Random Acts of Strangeness done. I have one of my ATCs half done -- I am hoping to work on those while I am away. We still haven't gotten our PIMP MY USERNAME swap partners :( This is the swap I am worried the most about -- I want to get it done and mailed out before I move. Sigh -- moving -- I am going to be loosing my crafting space as I down size DRASTICALLY. La sigh. Also, my new sewing machine isn't in yet!!!!!!!!! It's been like 3 weeks! I need to get this duvet' cover I promised a friend done before I move AND I need to get this huge canvas collage done before I move so I don't have to move the canvas and stuff. I am a little overloaded with the craftiness right now! But it's my own fault. I want to make this shirt I got a pattern for -- it's cute and summer-y. I don't ever seem to get to craft for myself. Such is life.

I don't know how I feel about the 5 swap limit Craftster just started -- I am in a 6 month swap right now so that counts for one -- then I like to do the paper swaps which really don't take too much time -- I usually limit myself to 2 craft swaps a month -- then add little ones like CD swaps or ATC swaps to have something to do when I get blocked. I guess it's a good idea to limit flaking, but it kinda cramps my style. BUT didn't I just complain I never craft for myself? I guess I will shut up then ;)

"Weeeeeeeeeeeee" Watch Jamie Jump on the Craft Blog Band Wagon

Blogs scare me. My Space scares me. I think this is due to the fact that I am getting old. What every happened to the Hello Kitty Diary with the lock that was ridiculously easy to pick? I guess the days of secrets under your mattress are over. But I digress -- So I am starting this little blog to show off my craftiness -- talk a little about my life maybe -- just keeping it breezy!

So what types of crafts do you expect to see 'round these parts? Well, I love clothing recon -- and con ;) I am a curvy girl -- so my stuff usually takes that into consideration. I am crazy into the swaps on craftster. I can't wait to get my PIMP MY USER NAME swap partner!

I am thinking about starting my own etsy store, but I can't think what to sell. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

In my life right now -- I am moving August 5 then going out of town for a month on August 7! Good times -- Good times. I am doing a few swaps right now -- so that is fun. That's basically it.
